I’m Still Learning

This is my littlest cousin. While our families were out swimming one day last summer, she asked her mom if she could get an ice cream cone. Once that cold treat was in her hands, she would not let go. She was determined to hold it herself until it was gone. Of course, the ice cream cone started to melt, but she would not let go. That was her ice cream cone and she was going to finish it. It ended up getting everywhere! I felt like this quote went with the picture, and the circumstance surrounding it, perfectly. She was still learning how to eat an ice cream cone without having a major clean up afterward.

Every single one of us is still learning something. If we mastered everything that was possibly there to learn, life would be boring. We grow with each new circumstance and  happening. We are constantly changing and gaining more knowledge. I think Michelangelo worded it best, “I’m still learning.”

What’s something that you really want to learn? Feel free to comment or just ask yourself that question and see what your next life adventure might involve. Do you feel like it’s possible for anyone to be finished learning?

Thanks for reading 🙂

I think people often get out of the habit of learning when it’s not expected of them. I don’t think our natural curiosity dies, but I do think we can get so busy or stressed that we begin to ignore those I wonder… sorts of thoughts. One of the things I love about teaching is that there’s learning going on around me all the time, so it’s easy to join in.

Best wishes on your learning journey!
